Rebecca C, the owner-operator of Tiny Toes Movement, began Irish dancing at the age of 11 and competed in multiple regional and national championships. She has performed alongside internationally-renowned Irish musicians such as Eileen Ivers (of Riverdance fame) and Natalie MacMaster, and appeared at venues including the White House and Kennedy Center, at large festivals, and on television. In addition to her dance background, Rebecca has training in teaching and classroom management. She worked as an 8th grade classroom teacher at the highest performing public charter school in California and as a college teaching assistant and college writing center associate. She maintains a current CPR certification (adult, child, and infant) and is trained in first aid. She completed her B.A. in Philosophy at Mills College in 2009 and has completed 16 Early Childhood Education units. Rebecca was selected as a participant in Luna Dance’s Summer Institute in 2015, and gained a tremendous appreciation for creative movement during the week-long intensive.
“Teacher Rebecca” now specializes as an early childhood dance instructor, a field where combines her love of movement, music, and dramatic expression to create dynamic, age-appropriate dance classes. As an instructor, Rebecca is passionate about fostering a love of movement, dance, and rhythm in young children while maintaining a creative and joyful classroom environment.
All of Tiny Toes Movement’s classes are taught by Rebecca, which creates continuity and allows her to build close relationships with students, teachers, and directors. Rebecca has students she has taught for their majority of their (young) lives! The consistency and familiarity that are achieved by this unique approach – having just one teacher for all of Tiny Toes Classes – create a safe dance space where children thrive.
